Alec was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, Alec moved to Los Angeles where he worked in television development at Scott Free Productions, before setting off to pursue his own writing career.

Since then, he’s developed pitches with MGM and Warner Brothers, written for the CBS series Training Day, the hit History Channel sci-fi series Project Blue Book, and most recently NBC's Law & Order: Organized Crime.
