Michael Davyd

Michael Davyd founded the Beyond Being Human Project in 2015, after inspiration from a life changing angelic encounter which continues to guide his developments with a deeply spiritual basis. Michael is driven to fulfil this unusual mission. Beyond Being Human Media Pty Ltd was launched in 2024 with Michael Davyd as the project's Chief Visionary Officer and CEO is Sheli Bowman. The company is currently focusing on raising funds and preparing for an adventurous documentary with various extensions in other programs and publishing.

Starting off... Michael attended a Rudolf Steiner school in Sydney, Australia, and began his professional life in backstage theatre, soon specializing in lighting design and stage management and assisted many directors in rehearsals. After several years working in various theatres, he did a year-long television production course which included film studies, and, of course, camera and lighting. Michael also worked in television production at a free to air station, and later ran his own photographic audio-visual studio, as well as photojournalism and commercial photography for corporate clients. In 2001, Michael returned to his first love – filmmaking. Over the past 4+ decades Michael has successfully produced many creative projects, including documentaries, corporate videos, websites, events, CD-ROMs and multimedia theatre.

In the early 1980's, Michael focused on stills photography and was a regular contributor for magazines such as Nature & Health and Simply Living... and was also involved in alternative media magazines such as Maggies Farm and Nexus.

Michael also created a number of multimedia/slide show presentations on various topics... a precursor to later documentary filmmaking. One of these projects was called "The Third Spectrum," an emotional journey through color in nature, which he toured with in primary schools in Australia, and showed at special events. This was revisited later in Maleny QLD Australia with a monthly show called Kaleidoscope – featuring topical stories with a focus on "cultural creatives" – a counter-cultural eco and spiritual base.

In the mid 80's, before the arrival of personal computers, Michael also created his own magazine, The Crystal Visionary, which also launched his networking adventures in USA. Eventually, the Macintosh arrived along with other personal computers, and Michael was able to improve production values of the magazine - and later published a book designed on Pagemaker 1 on an early Mac Plus.

In 2019, he released a feature length documentary about the first permaculture village in Australia, and possibly even the world, entitled Crystal Waters Ecovillage, and later began an experimental online publishing venture called Eco Village Voice which closed in 2021.

Michael’s ongoing passion and mission is the Beyond Being Human Project. More information: https://beyondbeinghuman.org/
