Michael Moran

Michael Moran was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He is a proud Cherokee Nation Citizen and was in the USAF from 1972 - 1976. Honorably discharged, he bounced from California to Oklahoma to Colorado and back again between 1976 to 1995. He finally settled down in 1995 in his wife's hometown of Lawton, OK, where the couple opened two small retail pack and ship stores. Michael’s wife passed away in 2012 - in 2022, he moved to the Pacific Northwest with his daughter and his son-in-law.

Michael has had some very interesting UFO experiences. About 1963 or 1964: One summer day in 1963 or 64, when he was about 11 or 12 years old growing up in the San Fernando Valley, he looked up at the sky, and saw 5 or 6 orange balls of light moving north-westerly. He was riding his bike -- he looked down for a second to see where he was going, and when he looked back up they were gone.

On Christmas Eve 11:50P.M. 1997, Lawton, OK, Michael was standing in the alleyway behind his place of business waiting for his wife to unlock the back door. For no reason whatsoever, he looked up and above him was a HUGE triangular object floating/flying silently going from south to north (actually headed straight for Ft. Sill Army Base, less than a mile north). It blocked out the sky, it was completely silent and it very nearly faded into the night sky. The object seemed to be close to the ground, Michael guesses that the craft was less than 500 feet above him. The moment his wife arrived, it was gone. Completely and noiselessly.

As far as he knows, Michael was the only person in Lawton that saw that large UFO. Year later, when he saw the Phoenix Lights UFO story on TV, he says today, “It resembled what I saw in Lawton. But, I didn't see a V-shape flying overhead. The craft I saw was a full, wide wedge, triangle above me.”
