William Price
Born and raised in Michigan, Bill was the second of seven children who all lived in a three-bedroom house. By the time he became of age, his parents had their hands full raising the younger siblings. This provided him with the opportunity to be adventurous and explore a variety of new and interesting things at the age of 17. He moved to California with his aunt and uncle who were starting a travel business. The three of them worked tired tirelessly to establish a company that would eventually expand and become very successful.
In his mid-30s, Bill married and the couple had two children. They raised their two daughters in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. During his career with the travel company which spanned 45 years Bill had done a considerable variety of jobs ranging from driving a bus and being a bus mechanic to overseeing a fleet of 50 motor coaches. Later, for the travel company he was designing, laying out, and printing brochures and establishing an in-house advertising agency. The company was billing over $10 million.
Although the company was profitable, it suffered considerably after 9/11 and that event was then followed by the death of his aunt. As president, Bill built back the business and in 2006 his uncle – then the sole owner -- decided to sell the company. The new owners, a multi-billion-pound corporation from Europe, required Bill to stay on for several years. After the big recession, the parent company was forced to downsize and they eliminated the presidents of all the U.S. companies and consolidated their operations.
At that point, Bill became a traveler. He has been to every continent and sailed all 7 seas, as well as having visited every state in the union. As an adventurer, he was the first person to view the bow of the Titanic from the Titan submersible, and has given many lectures on it. His interests include space, ancient civilizations, archaeology, film and media. He is a longtime member of the American Film Institute and Independent Film Association.
